Our Customer Services team are on hand to assist you regarding your travel. You can call us on 01495 775599, lines are open from 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday. We are online via social and web chat from 08.00 – 18.00 Monday to Friday and available via social from 10.00 – 16.00 at weekends.
From Monday 27th July 2020, all passengers on buses in Wales must wear a face covering when onboard our vehicles, face coverings must also be worn when inside transport hubs in Wales which includes bus stations, interchanges or travel shops.
- Please remember to bring a face covering for your journey as without one you will be unable to travel
- A face covering can be very simple, like a scarf or bandana that ties behind the head to give a snug fit. It just needs to cover your mouth and nose
- Please put your face covering on before boarding the bus or entering a transport hub and wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before putting it on
- Please wear your face covering throughout the duration of your journey, including when disembarking the bus
- If you need a drink or to take medication while travelling or when inside a transport hub please do so quickly and be mindful of others
- To keep everyone safe please store a used face covering in a plastic bag and take it home
The Welsh government has issued guidance that can be found here.
All of our drivers in Wales have been advised to inform our customers who are not wearing a face covering on boarding the bus, that they are required to do so by law, throughout their entire journey, unless they are exempt. If a customer is not exempt and refuses to wear a face covering, then our drivers have been instructed to explain to the customer that they are breaking the law and that the police have powers to impose a fine of up to £100. Our drivers report all failures to comply with Government policy to their Depot Management team to allow us to closely monitor the situation and advise the authorities.
We have also adopted the policy of all customers being required to wear a face mask onboard in Wales, unless they are exempt.
Following an Equalities Impact Assessment, exemptions will apply to those with:
- Breathing difficulties and other respiratory conditions
- Conditions effecting their dexterity, meaning they are not able to put on a face covering
- Mental health conditions such as anxiety or panic disorders
- Other non-visible disabilities such as autism
- Cognitive impairments, including dementia, who may not understand or remember the need to wear a face covering
- Visual impairments, with a restricted field of vision, particularly if any residual vision is at the lower edge of the normal field of view
- Impairments which would make it difficult to put on or take off a face covering safely, accurately, consistently or without pain
The exemptions also apply to those who rely on lip reading. This would include carers who are travelling with someone for whom a face covering will inhibit communication
Young children under the age of 11 or children on dedicated school transport services are exempt.
Yes, we have a range of Journey Assistance cards that are available for anyone that needs support when travelling. We have added two new cards to the pack for you, Cards can be downloaded here.
It is really important to us that we continue to support all of our customers who wish to use our services.
Whilst seats within 2 metres of the driver are currently taped off, wheelchair spaces will always remain available. Rest assured, if you require support with boarding our buses, our drivers are following the below steps to ensure social distancing and your safety are maintained whilst they are providing you with assistance:
- The driver will wear a face covering and sanitise their hands before leaving their cab
- The driver will politely ask you to maintain a 1 metre plus distance whilst they put the ramp in place
- The driver will limit the time they are within 1 metres plus of you to ensure this is kept to an absolute minimum
In exceptional circumstances where the driver is unable to leave their cab to offer you assistance, they will politely explain why they are unable to help you.
Colleg Gwent bus passes are accepted.
Transport for Wales concessionary bus passes are accepted.

We’ve been using Phil Anslow for our Run Diva Run race events. The ladies in the office are helpful, the drivers are polite & really helpful in dropping us off and picking us up. We always get a good price too. I’ve just booked another two coaches for events & will continue to use them. Thanks everyone. Top service.

Great trip to Gloucester yesterday – the bus arrived on time and was even decorated for Christmas! Nick was a very professional, friendly driver who got us there and back safely and even gave us a little toot ‘goodbye’ as we got off the bus! Excellent value for money and wouldn’t hesitate to book another trip with you!
Emma Robbie11/22/2015Had a fantastic day yesterday at Gloucestershire Victorian Market

Annmarie Hayes8/03/2017First time using this company, went on the day trip to the Christmas market in Bath. Would highly recommend this trip. Comfy, clean coach made this a very enjoyable day out.
Maggie Lovett12/16/2019I use Phil Anslow coaches with work to hire their coaches for day trips out and I recently went on a day trip organised by Phil Anslow coaches to Harry Potter Studio and on every occasion the drivers have been very friendly, kept us informed of any traffic problems along the way and made the day a whole lot better with their friendly chats. Would highly recommend Phil Anslow Coaches.

Can’t believe there’s actually negative reviews on here, compared to the much bigger company, Stagecoach, I think Phil Anslow is much more professional and much cheaper to travel on, and also the drivers will do anything to help passengers. They simply go that step further to keep passengers happy unlike Stagecoach who honestly don’t give a s*!t about passengers.
johnl 19789/07/2019I have used Anslow Coaches for the last 4 years to take Abergavenny Bowlers to Torquay in November on a bowls tour. We are about 40 in number and never a complaint. Coach is always on time, always clean, great driving staff, Sue in the office is brilliant to deal with. Already booked for November 2017.
Maurice Padfield12/14/2016Day Trip Bath Xmas Market Went to Bath with Phil Anslow Coaches, was very impressed with the service and the staff. Driver was very helpful, Coaches was spotless and clean. Cannot recommend highly enough

Sarah Francis4/08/2018They should be nominated for coach and bus company of the year i am so thankful to the drivers looking after my son everyday from blaenavon to brynmawr.
Camilla Beckman3/18/2015I catch the x1 service to Work every day I spend £20 a week on the bus for a weekly ticket and I have to say it’s an absolute pleasure to do so. I have never once had a bad experience on your buses most of your drivers are absolutely brilliant on more than one occasion I’ve witnessed them go out of there way to please the customers like only today one of your drivers seen a little old lady rushing and panicking with a Zimmer frame because she wasn’t at the bus stop instead of Just driving past like stagecoach would he stopped right by her asked her if she needed help getting onto the bus, told her to sit down and scan her pass when she got off and didn’t pull off until she sat down I see this all the time from most of your drivers. Most of them don’t get the credit they deserve would never go back to catching stagecoach buses

What a lovely change to get a bus and be greeted with a smile, absolutely lovely service. No rush in the driver waited for everyone to be seated before pulling off, unlike other diver leaving you to be jolted into the seat. Was kind and even saw him offer a woman with a cough a bottle of water. Took his time and was actually aware he had customer in the back unlike other busses I’ve been on. This was today on the 63 from usk to Pontypool around 1:30, what a lovely change, keep It up!

My daughter left her phone on the bus on Saturday along with her debit card and Id. Contacted the office at 9.00am and by half eleven we had the phone back. Mr Anslow brought it to Bulwark to save us a journey to head office. Very grateful to him as I’m sure not every bus company would be that obliging. Many thanks.
Teresa Peebles3/02/2020My partner and I have just returned from a turkey and tinsel break in Torquay absolutely brilliant break, brilliant hotel, great food and entertainment. Our driver for the week was Stuart and he looked after everyone from start to finish. Thank you can’t wait for our next break
